When it comes to affluent travellers, trends show that the growth of Chinese tourists within the peninsula continues to expand significantly, asserted Ang.
"Due to the crisis in Europe and the US, there was a slow down until recently while the economies of these nations are recovering," adding that the shift to Asia is aligned to the continent's growth.
Enhancing this view, Heath, added, "With offices in Hong Kong, Dubai and Singapore, […] affluent guests come from these regions.
However, its reach extends throughout the Asia Pacific region, as well as UK and more recently, Australia."
Hewett, also commenting the market dynamics, indicated that, "We have also seen a shift in premium airline services which as sparked intense competition between carriers, driven largely by airlines for the Middle East [...]."
LUXURY AT SEA
Tang emphasised that Singapore is an easy destination to enjoy and explore, with fantastic air connectivity, to having English as a common language, there is a great variety of things to see and do.
In addition, the destination has two modern state-of-the-art cruise centres and can accommodate tourists on luxury cruise trips.
"Pre- and post cruise trips are promoted to show that Singapore is more than a stopover, but a must visit place [...].
On January 07, Seaborn Encore, the newest luxury cruise ship of the world's finest ultra-luxury cruise line Seaborn, was named in Singapore," further added Tang.
To conclude, Hewett stated that as travel has become an integral component of luxury lifestyle, the expectations tend to lean towards disconnecting from work life, to find tranquillity and peace.
"Wellness escapes are growing in popularly as people seeking a more balanced lifestyle increases."
